I wasn't even in the raid for this encounter, but I didn't need to be to say that it's a stupid fight. I'm not sure Blizzard has ever successfully pulled off one of these artificially-timed-by-repeating-a-phase encounters, and they always end up feeling like a lot of waiting around and looking forward to the next fight. Pretty sure I was better off being stuck in traffic on the 405. Thanks Orange County!
Also, if Drhaze had a real 16:10 monitor, Chreese and Alariye wouldn't be chopped off in the image. Time to hit up Sillytickles for those alimony checks!
Ah, the ever-popular three-boss "council" encounter. Everybody loves these! In fact, they love them so much that there is another one later on in the instance disguised as a nine-boss super council fight.
I don't even know what to say about this one other than it feels just like every other one ever made since bug trio back in Ahn'Qiraj. Tank the guys, don't stand in stuff, wait for the signature ability, pop some healing cooldown, repeat a few times and then make sure they all die at the same time. Bam! Pow!
I never got around to posting about Ra-Den when we killed it, largely because we ended up killing it so long after Lei Shen that it felt anticlimactic. Right after Lei Shen two of us were leaving on a lengthy vacation, so we blew through 30 attempts in a couple of hours chain pulling using a Guardian Druid as a tank and our normal main tank's off DPS off spec, giving us probably the world's worst comp and wiping repeatedly to tank deaths and DPS problems.
Once we got back we killed Ra-Den in short order, but it didn't feel like much of an accomplishment. It didn't take us long, though, to come back and knock out this fun no-deaths-on-the-first-pull achievement, which was a small consolation. Now we can look ahead towards next tier where we hope to improve on this one.
